Reclaim Your Health and Quality of Life

You don't have to accept a life of adapting to missing teeth. Dental implants are the standard of care because they are the only solution that looks, feels, and functions just like your natural teeth.

  • You'll Look and Feel Like Yourself Again: An implant prevents the "sunken" look that can happen with bone loss, supporting the natural shape and structure of your face.
  • You Can Eat Your Favorite Foods: Implants are strong and stable, giving you the power to chew steak, apples, and corn on the cob with ease and without worry.
  • You'll Protect Your Other Teeth: When you have a gap, your other teeth can shift into the empty space. Implants fill the space to keep all your teeth aligned.
  • It's a Permanent Solution for Your Jaw’s Health: The implant post stimulates your jawbone like a natural root, which is critical for stopping bone loss.

More Than a Surface Fix

Unlike dentures or bridges, which sit on top of your gums, a dental implant becomes a permanent part of your jaw. It's lightweight, incredibly durable, and biocompatible, meaning your body accepts it as a natural part of you. This is why they are considered the only true tooth replacement.

The Dental Implant Procedure

  1. A local anesthetic is first administered to numb the surgical sites.
  2. Incisions are made in the gums to expose the jawbone for small holes to be drilled in.
  3. The implants are then placed for the gums to close around them, and temporary teeth are provided while you heal.
  4. Healing can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months.
  5. Once you've healed, the temporary teeth are removed so impressions of your mouth can be taken to create your permanent teeth.
  6. When ready, the permanent teeth are screwed into place.

Permanent Solutions, For Your Exact Needs

Are You Hiding a Single Gap in Your Smile?

Missing a single tooth has a surprisingly big impact on your whole life. You might find yourself chewing on the other side of your mouth or hiding your smile in photos. With a single-tooth implant, we help you fill this gap by replacing the entire tooth, from root to crown.

Are You Missing Several Teeth in a Row?

If you're missing a few teeth in a row, you might have heard about traditional bridges. However, these options require grinding down healthy teeth on either side of the gap, which we feel is an unnecessary sacrifice. With implant-supported bridges, we use two or more implant posts to anchor your new teeth. This means your healthy teeth are left completely untouched.

Are You Missing All of Your Teeth or Frustrated with Loose Dentures?

For our patients with full dentures, implants can be the most life-changing solution. No more daily frustration with messy adhesives, painful slipping and clicking, or having to avoid the foods you used to love. A full-mouth implant ends that all by securing a full, beautiful, and permanent set of teeth.

Have You Been Told You "Don't Have Enough Bone" for Implants?

If you've been missing teeth for a long time, your jawbone may have shrunk, and you might have been told you're not a candidate for implants. Please do not count yourself out. You have options! Where a bone graft isn't suitable, we can consider a subperiosteal implant, which is designed to rest on or above your jawbone rather than being placed directly in it.

Frequently asked questions about dental implants

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if I can get dental implants?

Most adults in good health are good candidates for implants. Though the most important determining factor is whether or not you have enough healthy jawbone to support your implant. Our team will explain all the benefits and any risks during your first consultation to make an informed decision about whether or not this restoration is right for you.

Is getting dental implants painful?

No, the procedure itself is not painful, and we typically complete it under local anesthesia so you don’t feel a thing. Many of our patients report that the placement of an implant was significantly more comfortable than the extraction that came before it.

How soon can I return to work after treatment?

Most of our patients can return to work the very next day, though some appreciate a few days off to acclimatize to their new healing journey. We’ll prescribe medication to alleviate any minor discomfort and work with you to understand when it would be best and most realistic for you to return to your normal activities.

Dana, my hygienist, did a fantastic job. With over 25 years of experience, she skillfully engaged in conversation with me while working on my teeth, making the cleaning process pleasant and comfortable. I also had the pleasure of meeting Kristi, Dr. DeMatthew's assistant, who was friendly and personable. Dr. DeMatthew herself was articulate in explaining the details of my dental health, making sure I understood everything clearly. Overall, my experience at Windsor Family Dental was wonderful, and I highly recommend Dr. DeMatthew and her staff.

Kaci K.

I had to switch dental clinics because of insurance reasons and I am happy to have landed at Windsor Family Dental. The staff here is great and I love Dr. Zhao, she addressed a concern that I’ve had for years and put my mind at ease. Everyone made me feel comfortable and after my visit my lifelong dread of dental appointments has vanished.
